One-on-One Meditation Coaching — Virtual & In-Person
Meditation Coach
"I can't meditate. My mind won't shut up. I've tried."
Almost everyone who says this followed generic instructions, alone, with no one watching what their mind was actually doing. That's not trying meditation. That's trying an app. Coaching is what trying meditation looks like.
Book a Free Consult CallYou're not bad at meditating.
You were handed instructions written for someone else.
A busy analytical mind, a vigilant nervous system, an attention style that needs movement — each of these needs a different door into the same state. Generic instructions pick one door and declare everyone else undisciplined.
Think about how you'd learn any other physical skill — a golf swing, a freestyle stroke. Would you expect an audio recording to fix what it can't see? The entire value of a coach is the feedback loop: watch what happens, adjust, repeat. Meditation is a skill of the nervous system. It's coachable in exactly the same way.
So the question isn't whether you can meditate. It's which door your mind opens for — and nobody's shown you yours yet.
The trader who "couldn't meditate"
A client — a futures trader, mind like a ticker tape — told me flatly in our first call: "I've tried meditation for years. I'm the person it doesn't work for." Every app, a weekend retreat, a $400 cushion. His record for stillness was ninety seconds.
Watching him try for two minutes made the problem obvious: he was attacking stillness the way he attacked everything — as a performance to win. Every thought that arose got scored as an error, which produced frustration, which produced more thoughts to score. He wasn't failing to meditate. He was succeeding, flawlessly, at self-surveillance.
So we didn't start with stillness at all. We started with a guided entry built for a mind that needs something to do — attention given a moving target instead of an empty room. He was in the state inside ten minutes, and his first words after were: "Nobody told me it was allowed to feel like that."
Ninety days later it anchors his trading morning. Which raises the question — what has your mind been told it isn't allowed to do?
Signs coaching is the missing piece
None of these mean meditation isn't for you. All of them mean the method wasn't.
What you're probably thinking right now
I've genuinely tried. Why would coaching succeed where apps failed?
Because the app never met you. 'I can't meditate' is a conclusion people reach alone, following generic instructions with no one watching what their mind actually did. In coaching, the moment your attention bolts or your body refuses to settle, that's not a failure — it's the diagnostic. We see exactly where your practice breaks and build around it. Nobody is bad at meditating. They're unmatched to their method.
What happens in a coaching engagement?
First we establish the state — guided, live, so you know from direct experience what you're training toward. Then we build your entry: the specific route your mind takes to get there, practiced until it's yours. Then a schedule that survives your real life, with check-ins to troubleshoot what drifts. You leave with a practice, not a subscription.
How long until I'm self-sufficient?
The goal is to make me unnecessary. Most people reach the state in the first session — guided. Reaching it solo and reliably typically takes a handful of sessions with practice between. This isn't a weekly-forever arrangement; it's skill transfer with an end date.
Is coaching in person or online?
Both. The state is induced through voice and attention, not proximity — online sessions work just as well, and most clients mix the two. In-person is available in Santa Barbara and Ventura County by arrangement.
